I tend to choose by whoever goes to the place I want to go to the cheapest.

Cheapest. It's okay if it's missing a wing or two, as long as I get there and it's cheap.

I agree with previous posters, I choose the cheapest as long as I think it is safe.
I always book my flights on line with LMT or Easy click travel-
My experience tells both are the cheapest.

Cheapest.

If I go with the family there are many other aspects I have to look at (food, duration of flight, stop overs, etc.).

How do you choose your airline when you travel abroad?

I look at several factors:

1. Past Experiences
2. Other people's experiences
3. Rules and conditions of the Air Ticket
4. Of course economics - deals -
5. Overall reputation in terms of safety, punctuality
6. Amenities on board (seat size etc).

I suggest you should use internet and check the airlines (there is one good website for comparing seatguru.com)

hope it helps

When traveling to Israel You might want to consider one thing. El Al is one of the safest airline companies in the world, hence the security check before boarding the flight is a pain. They go through everything in Your luggage. They ask questions You never knew could be related to Your trip. The security check takes time and nerves. Security officers can be unfriendly.

I have had no problems flying El Al several times, but some on my friends prefer other companies. In security check You should stay calm all the time. Don't try to be friendly with the officers, just answer the questions, stick to the facts and stay firm. Don't explain too much, yes or no is often enough. Do not make jokes! A friend of mine missed his flight because of a joke.
