Newbie Group: Members Posts: 2 Joined: 25-March 10 Member No.: 871211 Nominate me as a Local Expert	Hi I am planning on travelling through Myanmar. To enter from China at the Ruili - Muse border. Then to exit into Thailand. Research shows I may be able to take a boat down the coast all the way to Kawthaung? Is this my best hope? Or is there any other border I can cross from Myanmar into Thailand without flying to. I really want my trip to consist of no flying and this part in planning is causing a lot of difficulty. Any help grateful. Thanks lee.

Don't believe everything you read on the web because the reality on the ground is very different. There are checkpoints and soldiers everywhere, and if they decide they don't want to let you go through they won't. You can give it a try using the methods you mention, but I'd look into alternatives as well.
