My favorite places in India are: Dharamsala (Dalai Lama's place/situated in the north of India), Ladakh(a fascinating place - very high, desert-like, wonderful view all the way up, amazing culture, lovely people /situated in the north of India), Manali (the Indian Switzerland- green and mountainous region with wooden huts, cows and mix population- slant eyed and Indians /situated in the north of India), Parvati valley (a blossoming valley full of weed...as well as few hot springs/situated in the north of India), Jaisalmer (an enchanting little town in the middle of the Rajasthani desert/west of India), Hariduar (a very holy Hindi town, the place to watch lots of traditional ceremonies/center of India),Madurai (a very holly Hindi town, yet completely different from Haridwar. It has a very beautiful Hindu temple you shouldn't miss and a Gandhi museum/south of India), Bhodgaya (full of Budhist monasteries, therefore one of the best places to make fascinating Buddhist retreats/east of India), Cochin (a lovely town- the site of the first European colonial settlement in India and the capital of Portuguese India until 1530), Goa (Tropical jungles and beautiful beaches- a Portuguese overseas territory for about 450 years, until 1961/south west of India), Gokharna (a lovely holy little Hindu town situated on the south west shore of India), Om beach (a tiny beautiful tropical beach located near by Gokharna), Amritapuri(a small village located on the south east shore of India, home of Amma's ashram- the hugging mother guru), Pondicherry (a French Colony situated on the south west shore of India and home to the famous Sri Aurobindo's ashram), Mumbai (the biggest city of India, its commercial and entertainment centre as well as well as home of the Indian film industry- Bollywood/located on the south east shore of India and has a fascinating mix of ancient and modern) and of course Amritsar (the famous golden temple/located in north west India). For some more information about Mumbai and Amritsar, including recommendations for best restaurants, shops, markets and attractions, I warmly advise you to go inside the travel guide of a web site called Easy Click Travel. I found it very helpful so many times

My favorite place is Manali.
Manali is a picturesque hill station located in Kullu district in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The resplendent natural beauty, lofty Himalayas, colorful orchards, stunning high altitude meadows, rich flora and fauna, colonial charm and pleasant cool climatic conditions make Manali an ideal holiday destination in Himachal Pradesh, India.

In Manali other best place is Kullu. Kullu is located in the central part of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated at an altitude of one thousand and two hundred meters and stand at the confluence of Beas and Sarvari rivers. Kullu valley is most charming and beautiful. It spreads its magic on both sides of river Beas. The town is famous for its temples and annual Dusserha festival. There are also some interesting tourist places nearby.

Manali is situated forty kilometers away from Kullu to the north. Manali tourism lets you savor a breathtaking landscape. On one side is snow covered peaks towering in the horizon, while the Beas River with its clear water flow sluggishly through the town. On the other side are deodars and opine trees, tiny fields and fruit orchards. Honeymooners and holiday seekers frequent it. Adventure tourists who are on trek to Lahaul, Spiti, Kangra and Zanskar ranges treat Manali as a stopover.

The climate of Manali remains pleasant mostly through the year. In winter, that is from October to February the temperature can fall below zero. It is an ideal time for skiing and enjoying snowfall. Summer that is the period from March to June is ideal for various adventure sports. The climate remains pleasant through the day and cold during night.
The city of Manali consists of a mixed population of educated elites. But, there are many indigenous tribes present in and around Manali. Most of the local indigenous inhabitants of Manali belong the aboriginal tribal community of Kinnaur. Gujjars are another indigenous community present.

There are regular buses plying from Delhi, Ambala, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Haridwar, Shimla, Dharamsala and Dalhousie to Manali. This easy accessibility makes Manali popular among holiday tourists.

Tourism in Manali receives a large impetus from the opportunities on offer for adventure sports like River Rafting, Skiing, Paragliding, Trekking, Hiking, Mountaineering, Kayaking, Mountain Biking, River crossing, Jeep Safari, Motor Cycling, Rock Climbing, Angling etc.

The important tourist places nearby Manali worth a visit are Hadimba Temple, Buddhist Monastery, Vashisth Hot Sulphur Spring, Rohtang Pass, Solang Valley, Club House, Van Vihar, Manu temple, Mall Road, Nehru Kund, Kothai, Gulaba, Rahala Fall, Marhi, Rani Nala and Manikaran Sahib.

So come and enjoy holidays in this picturesque and heavenly Manali also called Switzerland of India and enrich your holiday treasuring golden memories to cherish for lifetime. Come explore the beauty of Manali tourism and feel the beauty of Paradise on Earth.

My favorite places in India(Panchgani)

Panchgani literally mean the place of five hills, is a renowned hill station in Maharashtra. This majestic hill resort is located at 1,334 mt altitude. Panchgani is a vibrant scenic destination and its beauty multiplies with the backdrop of hilly terrains at one side and coastal plains at the other side. This place had been used by the British officials as their summer resort.

ThePanchgani hill station is known for its unpolluted air and it is believed that the oxygen content in atmosphere is more here compared to other regions. Due to this many people select this for convalescing from diseases. The ambience is very cool and calm and the exquisite environment is a perfect background for rejuvenation.

The only certified 3 Star Hotel in Panchgani The Ravine Hotel is equipped to satisfy all your needs, from conferences to movie shoots. A resort which is just an easy 4-hour drive away from Mumbai, it is a favorite getaway for a weekend of peace and tranquility for many Mumbai residents and visitors. The Mumbai film industry (Bollywood) prefers using Ravine hotel over all other hotels in Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani, as their base camp for film shoots in Panchgani. So come and live where the stars stay and enjoy the breathtaking views from our luxury rooms.

When we toured India and Nepal for six weeks a few years ago, my wife did all the legwork on the internet, researching accommodation and train travel and managed to book almost everything before we left, even a double-entry visa so that we could go into Pakistan too. It worked brilliantly and it's much more exciting than doing it all with a travel company. And you are able to change your itinerary at a whim too.
