Dear all,

I have never been to either places so I am clueless which one I should go to. I will be traveling with my girlfriend seeking to relax and visit city life. At first we wanted to visit some islands but from what I have been reading or hearing is that besides relaxing, laying out on a beach, water sports, there is not much to do. Don't get me wrong I like that stuff and want to participate in it but I also want to explore the city life of where I end up going.

We're about 28 years old, we love nightlife and want to relax at beaches. Basically, we are pretty open to anything. We are not picky about food and are up open to suggestions as in what Malaysia or Singapore has to offer. We've been to Thailand, a great place!! We loved it and want to explore somewhere else.

What is the right places for us?

Thanks,
s4one46

I can recomend Penang in Malasia. The nightlife is not amazing, but thats one of my preffer places in Malasya. Natural park, good food and restaurants, heritage places to visits, parks, beach, cheap... A lovely place

I ended up deciding to visit the Perhentian Islands. Is there a particular resort or beach that is best for snorkeling or diving on the big island?

I suggest you reseve 2 days for Kuala Lumpur and rest of the days in Penang or Langkawi

I would prefer Langkawi (please do check extended forecast before actually heading there).

i've been to Singapore once..
if you'll choose singapore, then you try riding a cable car while sight-seeing Singapore..
and then visit the pink penguins in Underwater world.
that would be a sweet date.. (in the morning)

but if you want a night-life.
and a more romantic date with your girlfriend, then i think, Malaysia would be the right choice.
though, i've never been there..i am dreaming of going to Malaysia and see the Petronas Tower.
i think, SIngapore is for family bonding..
and for couples..Malaysia.

Dear s4one46,

I think KL has a lot to offer to match what you're looking for. The easiest way to explore the city is by the hop on hop off bus.

Perhentian Island is a wonderful island to explore if u love the sun, beach and sea activities such as diving snorkelling etc. however, please be informed that the island is close from November to Feb/March due to monsoon.

Another island that you can visit that is Langkawi.

Regards,
Sabirah
