We are traveling to Grindelwald area in Sept. and would like to find a place to stay that will give us access to the town and a nice hotel, any suggestions? We are traveling with another couple and want a hotel that is near so as to be able to walk around to get a coffee, dinner and shopping. We like nice places but don't want to spend a ton of money. THanks for any help. any other suggestions on a better spot to stay would be appreciated.

Grindelwald is beautiful and I am sure you will have a great time but I don't know of any well-priced hotel. There are many very nice hotels but you will have to pay high rates. At least in September it is a shoulder season so the rates won't be at their highest.

Here's a list of hotels. There is also a hostel if you want to rough it, but even the hostel is expensive compared to others.
