I am in the process of putting together some information on Sri Lanka in an attempt to "become a local expert" for travelpod. I spent three years living there and travelled extensively around the island (even managed a trip to Jaffna in quieter moments).

If you are planning a trip please don't hesitate to ask anything, and similarly as it has been a couple of years since I was there last, if you have been there yourself lately and have any tips I can include in my report, please drop me a line. What I am particularly short of is budget places to stay....although I did a few stints in hotels, when you actually LIVE somewhere there really isn't a need to seek out accommodation.

No doubt it would be a great help, go ahead. I would suggest to include the budget hotels also according to their service standard and specialty. Ahangama Easy Beach, Ambiente- Ella, Blue Magpie- Sinharajah and Cinnamon Gardens- Hikkaduwa etc are some budget hotels to be included in your list.
