The Bangkok Recorder is reporting that there will no longer be marijuana-laced pizza in Cambodia anymore.

I thought this was illegal for a long time, wasn't it? I thought it was just "under the table" or whatever, wasn't it?

Anybody really know what's going on here?

Or better yet, has anybody tried this pizza before?

Umm they were still very much in the open when I was there. I think there was a restaurant on the riverfront in Phnom Penh that was actually called "Super Happy Pizzas" or something!

Haha, gotta love Happy Pizza! Was there when we were there too, 2000 I think. I remember the shrooms as well. There was (is?) a place in Vang Vieng that had a bunch of differnt shakes and the title of the menu page was "happy and Special for You". They were happy and special.
We stumbled upon lots of places like this throughout SEA. Some were more hush-hush than others.

Every place in Vang Vieng served happy pizzas, mushroom shakes, opium tea etc. Menu's were out on display in the streets so it wan't exactly under cover.

The restaurant I saw in Phnom Penh was in late 2005 so it's probably still there smile.gif

I don't remember every place but perhaps it was because we tried to stay off the strip and flake out like many people there smile.gif The openness of drugs has had its ups and downs all over SEA over the years. Some times no one cared and then the government would "crackdown" and everyone would hide it for a bit and it was just, and likely still is, an ongoing cycle. Still remember the major 'crackdown on drugs' when people were getting shot left right and center just for being suspects. Um, 2003? Somewhere 'round there. Nasty times.

I want DETAILS!

Like, I ate a space cake in Amsterdam and then I was totally out of it the whole rest of the day. I was hallucinating, and really REALLY sleepy...does that sound familiar?

Gourmet Ganja smile.gif hahahaha......

Details? Well, a good zoomer buzz! Nothing over the top b/c they don't overload them enough to get a normal zoomer buzz. Not in my opinion anyway. Sometimes they taste like &^% or actual dirt, it just depends. But they make you smiley and happy and tingly and warm all over. They make me giggly. They were fun! Nice way to chill out for the afternoon by the river or something, take a wade across, buy some fruit. Ya know? Just pretty mellow and nice, nothing cookoo bananas unless you mixed with drinks or something.... it seemed alot of people ordered them and just chilled. Who knows now.....

This was just sent to me by my friend, who wishes to remain anonymous:

Yeah, I tried the pizza in Vang Viene in Laos - totally away with the fairies and can't remember much at all (plus I had been drinking whisky buckets all day while tubing down the Mekong river, so that didn't help!)

Then in Sihanoukville I had the happy shakes on 2 days. The first time I only had one, and it was a hilarious night. I was with 2 other girls and we just had the most hysterical time. There were also 2 guys with us, but they hadn't drank any, but still laughed along with us.

On the second occasion it was my last night travelling before I came home, and us girls had one again - and then just had to have another flavour! Two milkshakes down we were absolutely useless to anyone!! It was a shame as it was St Patricks day as well, and we were supposed to be going to the opening of an Irish bar, but one girl got really ill and had to go to her bed. I ended up just sitting on the beach with one of the guys, thinking I was actually wearing a leprechaun hat, and actually thinking I could see leprechauns river dancing in the ocean, which amused him no end!!

Hope that answers your question, ha ha!!

Wow, I had no idea. But then again, I've never been to those areas. Keep up the stories, they're quite amusing! laugh.gif
