I am planning a trip to Rome, Italy and we would like to spend a few days camping. Has anyone done this or have any tips? We are going to drive and will be bringing everything with us. Also we would like to go in the beginning of June, will it be warm enough to spend some time on the beach?
there are some campings in rome, but kind of outside the city, one I know is called happy camping.
the city is safe, you can bring your luggage , and summer gets very hot, even though, the sea , close to ROme is obviously polluted, better go a little south, there is a town , not too famous for foreign tourists, called sperlonga, about 1-1/2 hrs drive, south of rome.
In that area there are many campings, and the water is much cleaner than near Rome..
