Last month we travelled to Guam, which is part of the United States. Guam is a small island in the Pacific Ocean and is very popular with Asian holidaymakers.
Oh and just a quick note, ALL MILITARY get fabulous discounts, just about EVERYWHERE, in the hotels, shops, restaurants, you name it!
Where we stayed We stayed at the Pacific Island Club. It is a stunning hotel and has rooms for all budgets and sizes of parties. The rooms are nicely furnished with clean, white bedding and a very nice en-suite bathroom. They are clean and well looked after. We did have a little problem with our room when we arrived, but the hotel did move us to another room straightaway. The hotel has many fun things to do and has a water park out back which is great for children and adults alike. There is a very cute little pool for todders, and the water park adjoins the beach where water sports can be enjoyed. There is a nice little bar also. The staff are very friendly and willing to help in anyway they can to make your stay enjoyable.
Restaurants and Eating Out The PIC has several restaurants to please all tastes, there is a big main Buffet room which has breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. The range of food is awesome. You can buy food tickets for your meals, which add up to about $80 pp per day. The food is not cheap!
There is a nice hotel over the street called The Royal Orchid which has a few really cool restaurants there that Americans will recognise! But these get very packed during the everning. There is also a Jamaican restaurant too opposite the hotel.
Shopping The island is duty free so is pretty cheap for shopping and there are a few really nice malls around. Youc an get to these quite easily from the hotel as they have free shuttle buses or trolley buses which cost about $2! All the shops offer military discount.
The people in Guam are extremely friendly and you will have a blast!
