Newbie Group: Members Posts: 1 Joined: 3-February 08 Member No.: 136523	Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to go into futher study once you are in New Zealand on a visitor visa. Does the universities accept and does immigration department accept to change your visitor visa to student visa if you apply in time before expiring visitor visa and have got admission in university and also sufficient funds to support your education and stay? Or do you find any difficulty is doing so if required? About me: I am from India, with Masters in IT and work experience of 3 years in IT(Web development) Any suggestions please.

As far as I understand you can apply for a student visa whilst holding a valid visitors visa depending on how long you wish to study. If you're looking to study for more than three months you'll need to apply for a student visa. If you wish to take a short course for less than three months you won't need to.
