Hey everybody,
I'm brand new to the forum. I've just started to produce travel videos for indie travel agents, and I wanted to know where are the best places to visit in Brazil for people 18-30 yrs old. This would include shopping, nightlife, beaches, bars, etc. Samantha Brown's Passport to Latin America is not working for me, lol.
Thanks

salvador for culture florianopolis for beauty igauzzu for nature rio de janeiro for all around good times and no to brasilia when in rio, head down to ipanema beach, hire yourself a seat, have a seat, wait for the fresh coconut and vodkas to come to you. avoid copacabana, it's seedier and more like that you'll get mugged by favelas.

Thanks a million. One more question, if somebody asked you to produce a tv show based on the places in Brazil, what else would you feature?

You can figure Brazil into regions. People usually go to the NE for beaches and sun - pick a city, anywhere from São Luis to João Pessoa has a collection of historical places and beaches to visit. Down south, mountains, german/italian culture and colder weather. São Paulo for a look at a metropolis and cultural venues. Rio for the traditional stereotype (good/bad) of Brazilian life. Go to the North to find relatively unexplored areas of the country (rio branco is a good example). There is too much to summarize, but if you have an area of focus, it helps.

Brazil is very very big. South Brazil is very european... Maybe to people outside Brazil is not so different... For me, one of the most beautiful parts of Brazil is the Northern, with the beaches, the night life... Plenty of things to see. Many places to go that are an adventure (as Maranhão state). I was there and I know this... And wow, the very impressive 17th, 16th buildings... Well, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and so on... Northern Brazil Travel GuideGo South America

Hi , my favorite place is Buzios two hrs to the north of Rio , here is something I wrote to other site: Check on this review about Buzios and than you can ask me more. I'm a guide tour and live in Buzios , this is about Buzios: Buzios is a former fishermen village located two and half hours to the north of Rio on this amazing peninsula surrounded by 22 beaches, each one with it's own beauty, from the very small and cosy one like Azeda beach to a large surfers beach as such as Geriba beach . secluded beaches and crowded ones ,depending of what you're looking for and depending of what time of the year you are coming .I've always said that November is the best season to come to Buzios ,because it's all ready very warm almost like summer and it's not to crowded as it gets during the high season. Here you can rent a beach Buggy and drive around town getting to all the beaches and cool places , having nice sea food at the restaurants by the sea ,or all types of food at the main streets of the town ,called Rua das Pedras and Orla bardot( Briggite Bardot was a lover of this place and because of her, Buzios is now a days, famous all over the world , Tourist from all the countries come here the whole year around and even during the winter the weather is warm enough to enjoy the beaches ,so people love it! Buzios has one of the best night lives of Brazil ,is a very charming place with just beautiful and wealthy people from other cities of Brazil and the foreign tourist ,all parting together ,you'll find three night clubs in town :Privilege, zapata and Deep ,but to tell you the truth ,being at the Rua das Pedras is the best thing ,that place has some kind of special vibe, that every one can tell, something like magic. For beaches and good nightlife, Porto Seguro is a popular Brazilian destination, along with Fortaleza. Not many people outside of Brazil know about Porto Seguro and if you go there, the night clubs along the beach take turns having the big party of the night. The Toa Toa and Barromares are the best nightclubs there in my opinion.

Currently traveling the world on the company's dime...it's the cheapest way to go!!! Quote from my friend Chuck, who spent 5 months riding his bicycle all the way around the USA - "Nobody says you have to order an entree in the restaurant of life, you'll only be here once! Order the sampler, try as many as you can before you're full; odds are one (of) the items on this menu does more for you than you ever thought. And if I'm wrong, tell the waiter that his menu sucks, throw the cook aside and invent your own masterpiece. Just pour 'em all in, all your favorite ingredients. With enough imagination, any combination will work -- there are no recipes for the paths still awaiting discovery." Visit the mountains of Nova friburgo: The Macae de Cima Forest Brazil's Atlantic coastal forest once extended 2400 km from Rio Grande do Norte south to the coastal area of Rio Grande do Sul .It forming a narrow fringe of forest sandwiched between the ocean and the dry uplands of the planalto. Because of its geographic isolation from other forest types, this forest has one of the highest percentages of endemism in the world: over 50% of the tree species and 92% of the amphibians are found nowhere else in the world. Thus, the assemblage of plant and animal species found here is not merely a displaced portion of the Amazonian forest, but constitutes a unique floristic province that is seriously threatened.Because of these reasons, the coastal forests have been designated one of the World's biodiversity spots. The Atlantic forest, after amazonian, is the biggest area of humid forest in Brazil, that means almost all the time green. When Brazil was discovered by portuguese, Atlantic forest was a huge slice of brazilian coastal forests, that covered the country from north to south.500 years later, after agricultural development, only 10% remained. The mountains of Rio de Janeiro neighborhood, are the most important remaining forests, specially in Nova Friburgo and other small cities in the mountains as Teresopolis and Angra dos Reis city(near the coast).
