Have you ever dove in the Caribbean?

What was your favorite site? I am looking for new places to dive...

In the British Virgin Islands, the ship wreck the Rhone is really nice. You can dive into it, really easy deep dive. We were there last week, and saw at least 15 dolphins!

As for Dominica, the site Champagne is just amazing. You can see bubbles everywhere, and in some places you can feel briefly the boiling water coming out of holes.

Any other places that are worth seeing?

Well, I am not a diver BUT, I went to Saba last winter and people there are diving FANATICS. Our whole hotel was FULL of divers, and they were absolutely in love with the island.

It's tiny, it's volcanic and you can also go hiking up mountains.

Read up on it, and let me know if you are interested and I can tell you where I stayed, etc. etc.

I have been to Mexico in the Riviera Maya area. I am a snorkeler and my partner is an advanced diver. The snorkelling was good even from the hotel lots of colorful fish
We went to Cozumel and that was a bit dissapointing as hurricane Wilma has destroyed a lot of the coral however, the BEST DAY was our last day when we went to Akumel which is a small resort quite near Tulum (an amazing historical site with Mayan ruins where you can also swim in the most beautiful sea. Everyone said we would see Turtles at Akumel and we were quite sceptical. However, a guy on the beach suggested we snorkel out to the right about 50 metres in front of the restaurant as there was sea grass there which they tend to feed on. We went out and in no time at all we spotted a four foot and smaller turtle feeding together. We hovered above them for some time and they did not seem to notice us. We also saw a wall of fish about 10 metres accross and 4 metres deep with a barracuda in the middle - something we have never experienced before.
We have been to the Red Sea in Egypt 3 times now and the coral and variety of fish you will see here is just amazing. We think the best place to stay is in Naama Bay as there is a harbour to walk round at night, and old Bazaar, a new shopping mall and some top quality restaurants all at very good prices.

hello:

We were in Curacao in March 07.
My son dives and he said the diving was fantastic. We stayed at Breezes AI resort and it had amazing diving and snorkelling right from shore.
To the right of the resort is an underworld sea aquarium that is protected by law. The amount of fish and different species you saw was incredible. Everything from squid to butterfly, parrot, tangs, blowfish, too many too name.
There are people that go to Breezes every year for weeks at a time to dive and we met one lady that goes there for 5 months a year.

Definately worth checking out!

I lived in the Turks and caicos Islands for 2.5 years biulding a marina!
the Islands are somewhat expensive but the diving is out of this world,

The Island chain is sat ontop of a limestone rock that shoots straight up 6000ft from the sea bed, so almost every spot is a wall dive not just any wall dive as soon as you get to the edge it is a sheer drop 6000ft down.
along the top of the wall or for the first 200ft there is the most amazing coral and sea life, you will dive with sharks almost every time,
There are a number of dive operators dive provo is probably the best or big blue,
but with these guy's they dont have any rules if you have your open water its entierly up to you how deep you go or how your dive turns out I went down 154ft on one dive and 146ft on the second and no dive master blinked an eye lid, I new my limits and my assent rate so had no problems but a couple of guy's I worked with spent time in decompresion chambers which in turn emptyed there bank accounts!!!!
All that to one side if you make it to the TCI ask to dive west caicos and north caicos Awsome spots...

I went diving to Wreck Alley in the British Virgin Islands, next to Ginger Island. 3 ship wrecks close to each others, quite an easy dive. These boats were sank on purpose, but still it was amazing.

On our second dive, we went to the Painted Walls. Again not a deep dive, but the colors are gret under water, with sponges etc.

Too many places to dive!

Having done some diving in Taganga Colombia I'd recommend it. Great visibility and a great place to relax after a day in the water.

While I've never gone diving, I've heard that Bonaire is amongst one of the most amazing in the Caribbean. There are dive sites all around the island, and they put great effort into preserving certain areas by rotating the dive site locations around every number of years. Even just walking along the shore, we saw tons of different fish, including large parrot fish, and this was just along the shore! I can't imagine the amount of fish & underwater creatures that live around Bonaire!
