speak_cool.gif I know this question has been asked quite a few times.

*Also, I hope this is the correct forum, I thought maybe US

I grew tired of getting stuck trying to find freighters and any sort of passage to get to Iceland. So some friends and I have been investigating how to get from the NA continent to Iceland without flying and actually came up with some solutions.

After about a year of doing research, we found a couple of people capable of doing charter service from Halifax Nova Scotia to Qaqortoq, Tunu, Greenland, then to Rekyavik Iceland. We have even been in discussion on getting funds to start a ferry business on that route. It would be passenger only.

My question to members here would be:

Would folks be interested in this route? And vice versa?

If there was a charter and you could pay the company directly, would you be interested? What would be the accommodations you expect and reasonable price points you desire?

I have always thought that the NA to Europe non-flying connection has been the Achilles heal for many travelers looking to experience travel with regards to the journey. I have always thought that a solution could be found.

So what do you think?

Steve in Seattle...

When are you doing this? I might be onboard for 2011...

I'm sure you've looked into it, but have you checked out some repositioning cruises?

They are usually fast and will get you across the ocean for cheap.
