I don't know how much the train would cost, but I know it's pretty complicated to get to Bacharach. Read this blog, it's pretty detailed:

EUR 10.30 for single fare . For return, double it. Getting there, takes about 90 - 100 minutes. Its located just outside Rüdesheim. Keep in mind to use the regional railway station and not the long distance railway station at Frankfurt Airport. Tickets must be bought before boarding the train.

From the Frankfurt Flughafen Regional Bahnhof, a commuter S8 train leaves the airport at 59 mins past each hour and goes to Mainz. There you change train to the MRB (Mittelrheinbahn) departing at 30 mins past each hour. It will get you to Bacharach within 1:25 hours after departure from the Airport. Check out www.rmv.de.

YES, inquire at any train station (Reisezentrum) for that weekend ticket. With such ticket upto 5 persons can travel anywhere within one German state for a very low price. Take care, though, Frankfurt is not in Rheinland Pfalz. Mainz, Koblenz, Trier, Idar Oberstein, Bernkastel, Traben Trabach, Cochem, Saarlouis are the main tourist cities of Rheinland Pfalz. All worth seeing - Idar Oberstein is precious stones center, Trier is the magnificent Roman bastion, Koblenz has a large hill top fortress, Bernkastel has a romantic tudor style very colorful village on the mosel.
