[B] Needing info from anyone who had been to Cairo, Alexandria and surrounding cities ???

this will my first visit. Would like a little free advice about what to expect , such as weather in Feb.

Appropriate apparel, etc. Hotels to stay in Alexandria, we are already booked in the Sheraton Al-Gezirah.

Any help would be appreciative. Also first time overseas, ANYWHERE.

A LITTLE AFRAID. IS THE AIRPORT PRETTY SAFE ??????

No worries Skeeter, egypt is awesome and very safe.

The only comment I'l make is that it can be a little overwhelming with all of the touts bugging you constantly to buy something. Just get mentally prepapred for this.

Just wave your hand as if to "shoo" them away and don't maintain eye contact. If this does work and they are really bothering you "imshee" is a good one to remember which means "go away" ... worse case threaten to get the tourist police. For some reason, locals fear the tourist police like the plague.

Other than that, Alex is ok but get out to the Siwa oasis in the west sahara. It's a long bus ride from Alex but well worth it, check out my travelogue entry:

i am living in aexandria also woring weekly in cairo
try this web u will find ist of best egyptien webs so u can have a good idea befor ur coming
