Sana'a seems like a fascinating place to visit. I was considering going there for a few weeks/months for an Arabic course but that will have to wait for a while.

Try this blog about Yemen, it's pretty good. Yemen Blog

I was born in Sanaa
I tried to post a site that was related to Yemen called BabAlYemen.com meaning Gateway to Yemen, but it is no longer available.

I guess I can point you to a more specific section of the site that has information on Sanaa.
http://babalyemen.com/yemen/index.php?opti...tlink&id=78

Enjoy and I will check back if you have any more questions on Sanaa or anyone has questions on Yemen. Salam

I'm considering making a quick visit in October. With all the hassles about travelling overland I would probably fly from Sanaa to Seiyun. Would the flights fill up quickly or do you think it would be easy to arrange once in Sanaa. Yemenia's website isn't the best.....

Bus would be better but with the security situation do you think it would be possible. The bus would likely go via Marib so I doubt the tourist police would let me use it. Is there another bus route which tourists can take from Sanaa to Seiyun.

I would then continue travelling overland by bus to Salalah, Oman. Any info you have about this route (Bus times, price etc) would be appreciated.

This is a better link with an english video and subtitles and additional links about Sanaa on that page.

As for the trip through Marib, I don't really recommend it these days. Maybe at a later time. I think it is better to take the plane instead of the bus.

The following site seems well designed and has alot of packages for touring Yemen
http://www.admireyemen.com/Packages.htm

You could always use the infomation and hire a private driver. Just make sure that they are approved by the ministry of tourism.
