I remember many years ago when on a cruise to the Caribbean Islands we had the chance to visit the Bahamas as well.
It was supposed to be a safe place then while now I read that only this year more than 77 people were murdered.
With the economic crisis I believe more and more countries will become dangerous to visit, and travellers should be more and more alert.
NASSAU ARTICLE IS HERE :

I just wonder, what country that you have visited, you consider the most dangerous, and if an incident happened to you.

Oh yes, by the way, do tell us where in the world you felt really safe.

Personally I remember one country that I really felt safe, and that was Switzerland. I was told to be very careful while in Palermo, but I think it was no different than Spain or Italy.
I was also told that you can easily be robbed in Turkey, but I found the friendliest people on earth after the people in Bali.

So, what country do you consider the safest, and what country do you consider the most dangerous!

Popi, I moved this topic to the Bahamas section, because it's mostly about the Bahamas...

I don't know if the "economic crisis" makes anyplace more dangerous for travelers... it's usually people getting involved in criminal activity that leads to murders. Don't you think?

I felt very safe when I was in the Bahamas in 2003.
