HI, I am visiting Iran in December. What city/town did you like most? I would probably visit major cities like Esfahan, Shiraz and Bam. Do you know any good hostel or restaurant? Also I am very interested in Masule. Has anybody been there?

Be sure to see the capital Tehran, Shiraz, and Esfahan. I just stayed in hotels when visiting. They were relatively cheap and very clean. If you get the chance, also visit Hamedan which has a world famous cave among other monuments dedicated to an ancient poet and another for Avicenna who was a brilliant doctor and scientist.

Most tourist spots have English signs and people for the most part were extremely helpful (with their broken English). All n' all, it was definitely a place worth visiting.

I am interested in visiting Iran and Afghanistan.

Have not done much research on requirements. Can somebgody with only a USA passport get a Visa to those countries?

Global Exchange offers trips to both those countries but to a Lonely Planet budget type traveler, there charges seemed like poor value and very limited itinerary.

Any info on 'visiting' Iraq?

I am an Iranian lady.I think shioraz and Isfahan are ok but gheshm is also very beautiful.You can have a look at aopaq travel pod.I was with him during his trip to Iran

My friend and I are planning on visiting Iran next year march. however the time that we intent to visit falls on the Iranian new year. Would like to know if it is advisible to travel at this period? Also we would like to book our accomodations and domestic flights before our travel, not too sure if there is any website we can do the bookings? any advise?
