Many travellers would be unaware of the Çamlık Locomotive Museum (the flagship railway museum of Turkey) just a 30 minute bus ride from Selçuk. Staff at the Bus Station in Selçuk are extremely helpful and will soon direct you to the right bus to Çamlık. Once on the bus it's easy - just say "Train Museum" and the driver will drop you at the door!

Wow! Steam buffs heaven. The setting for the museum is delightful with well maintained lawns and gardens. Conveniently arranged through out was a marvellous display of steam locos and carriages. From the small, almost tram-like 0-2-0's to the mighty 2-10-0's were all on display.

A most enjoyable one and a half hours or so were spent walking, climbing, photographing the displays - and even a little day-dreaming of what it would have been like to have experienced these steam relics when they ruled the rails.

If you are a little "ruined-out" from looking at ancient buildings and sculptures, take the time to visit Çamlık – it’s well worth it! And only a short journey following your visit to Ephesus.
