Hi

We are considering a family vacation in Jamaica. What part of the island do you recommend we stay in for a variety of things to do and see?

Keep sharing and reading

Thanks

I would highly recommend staying away from Montego Bay. About 45 minutes from Montego Bay I have stayed at a small resort, Emerald View which is very safe and friendly but not too much to do. I would recommend it if you want to experience a bit of the real Jamaica in a safe family friendly setting. Transport is needed to go practically anywhere from Emerald View, so budget for that and you are OK. It may be a good option to stay for 1 - 2 days there then head elsewhere for a new experience. Yes, Ocho Rios is a good option and there are many things to do there. There are also some very nice resorts along the southwest coast, such as Coral Cove Resort. The staff there is excellent and will make sure that your whole family will enjoy themselves.

Have a great trip

my suggestion to you is treasure beach a beautfiul location on the south coast of jamaica
its a peaceful, safe, and a great place to chill
it rarely rains there, and is a desert climate

a favorite and a not to be missed experience is to take a boat ride to the pelican bar and up the black river to the largest wetlands in all of jamaica and see some crocodiles
its not uncommon to have some dolphins join you along the way speak_cool.gif

there are many other excusrions that you can take from there - lovers leap, ys falls and appelton rum - see the bamboo alley, little ochi

some days you may be the only ones on the beach and even during peak season you will not find the beaches of treasure beach over crowded

if you are looking for something that is truly a jamaican experience i would consider it....
you can check it out here www.treasurebeach.net

i you have any questions you know where you can reach me.....

walk good

Hi

I would suggest Runaway Bay and Ochi, you have the market in Ochi, Dunns River, Glistening waters, the caves, swimming with the dolphins, horseriding.
In between Runaway bay and Ochi is Priory Beach, they have a beach party there every Sunday night if I remember rightly lots of locals and tourists go there.
