My young niece will be traveling to Tanzania for an upcoming school trip and needs a hotel for one night near the Kilamanjaro Airport....anyone have any suggestions...Thanks

I had a quick look on tripadvisor.com under "Kilimanjaro Airport"

and came up with a few results. I'd have a look for places in Moshi. I stayed in Marangu which is quite nice but I'm not sure which direction up the mountain she is headed... (if she's going up) so I don't know how relevant that is.

There is not much in the immediate area. I almost forgot about the Kia Lodge on the airport property. It does not have a great reputation for quality so at first I did not even consider it. If she really needs to stay near the airport, that is the choice. The airport is halfway between Moshi and Arusha. About a 45 minute taxi ride either direction. If she needs to continue west, she can find one in Arusha. If not, I recommend Moshi. Depending on her hotel choice, they may have a pick up service at the airport, of course that is more likely with the more expensive hotels. If by chance she is arriving via Precision Air, they offer a shuttle. If you send me a message, telling me where she meeting others for the trip, I can help you a bit more. The other reply regarding Marangu, it is nice, but too far to travel for one night. I am sure that she will have a great time.
