No, it is not Hamlet's castle.
I saw it from a ferry deck in Stockholm, but I don't know its name

Starlagurl, thanks, but have not helped.
Or anybody from inhabitants of Stockholm did not come into this theme, or they plainly do not know the city

Have you tried looking for it using GoogleEarth? I just spent a bit of time but without knowing what ferry dock you took the pic from, it was a bit hard. Hopefully, someone will have posted a pic with the name of the castle. This might be worth a try.

I tried to search by means of GoogleMaps, but is ineffectual. The ferry went from Turku. The picture is made 20 minutes prior to arrival in port of Stockholm. In a picture the building North side is visible. That's all that I remember

I think you would have a much better chance with Google Earth rather than Google Maps. The resolution is excellent and I can see many lovely buildings but none which seem to match your pic. It is hard to know exactly where to search without a better idea of your route.

Hi!

I can solve this problem for you. To begin with: this is not a castle.
You are not the first to make the mistake.
In 1956 Queen Elizabeth was visiting Stockholm and her ship stopped and saluted outside this building as the commander of the ship thought this was the Stockholm castle.
The Russian Tsar is said to have made the same mistake.

It is infact an old insane asylum and a hospital originally built for lepers, orphans an elderly people. It is called Danvikens hospital or Danvikshem. It was built in 1902 and the architects name was Aron Johansson. Today it serves as a nursing home.

Maybe the Swedish Royal family should move there?
The king and the queen are getting on a bit...

Any questions about Sweden? Donīt hesitate!

Thank you so much! At last all has learnt.
Surprising it seems to me that fact that for the specified purposes it has been constructed such beautiful and, I believe, expensive building. Unfortunately, at me to Russia, all such buildings are under construction grey, square and poor. Nobody will want to spend for patients and homeless many money
