Hey guys.
Im so glad I found this website.

Me and some girlfriends are going over to Phuket next week.

I asked around and I know the places we want not to miss..

Phi-phi and Koh Samui , (anyone have any other suggestions of what to do and what to see)

My only issue right now is I want to go to Phi-phi, but can i go to Koh Samui from Phi=phi or the other way?


Any suggestions and advise will be much appreciated

Hey there Ratna,

Check out this Southern Thailand map

On the east peninsula is Samui. See Surat Thani? You can get a ferry from Surat Thani to Samui and vice versa. From Surat you can very easily jump on a load of different buses to get across to Krabi on the Andaman side (west peninsular coast). From Krabi you can take a ferry to Phi Phi. Ferries also run from Koh Lanta and Phuket to Phi Phi. Sorry, you want to go the opposite way but it is all the same.

Travel is easy and convenient. When you're there you'll realize that you will have plenty of options to get around. I'm not sure of the exact travel time but going ferry-bus-ferry should be about 8 to 9 hours. It will be an early start and you should be arriving in time to catch the afternoon ferry either way.

I guess we will take a boat to Phi-phi from Phuket, then from Phi-Phi to Krabi -then to Koh Samui..

Hi - thanks for the tips! Wondering if you have something to help me too. I'm planning We're taking the train from KLL to Butterworth, then Penang-Langkawi by ferry, but then i'm stuck as to how to proceed from Langkawi further North - i want to be sure to visit Phi Phi and Phuket before continuing to BKK.

I'd like to get back on the train, but it seems to be really out of the way to go east to Surat Thani, then all the way back to Krabi/Phuket. Are there any other better routes from Langkawi to Phuket?

I think the only way by train to Thailand. would be to Haadyai, from there u might either take a bus..Im not aware of the train system there..but I know the northest part would be haadyai!

I am not sure also but I think from Langkawi you should be able to organise transport - boats, mini vans and maybe even the train further North - crossing into Thailand and continuing.

If you do get the train - getting from Surat Thani to Krabi is pretty easy and not too long - as you say it is back tracking, but not that bad, so perhaps worth it if you like train journeys.

Otherwise I am sure you'll easily find a tourist van or a local bus that will drive you from Had Yai to Krabi / Phuket. In fact you'll probably have to fight off the drivers.

Oh - further to that - is there boat trips from Langkawi to Phuket??? No idea but maybe.

And I am sure there is cheap flights also.
