Flying into Gibraltar and getting the hell out straight away! Thinking of heading to Tarifa for a couple of days relaxation at the beach before the assault on the senses in Morocco. I'm heading out a few days earlier than my mate and will meet him in Cadiz.

My flight back to London from Marrakech was a quite absurd £25! Well £45 once I'd factored in the stealth taxes for luggage and credit card! Still a bargain.

Good stuff. Tarifa is awesome, windy as all hell! You'll love it, small surfy-type seaside village, friendly and personal. Understand the tight timeframe but if you do decide to head to somewhere like Granada or the Sierra Nevada there's a bed for you near Antequera the old capital, my bed.

Interested to see what you think of Morocco..

In my imagination I picture Tarifa as a European version of Mexico's Puerto Escondido. Very laidback, massive waves, lounging in hammocks sipping a beer. I hope that's reality!

I went to Granada in November and it's an amazing city. Absolutely gorgeous old cobbled streets, fantastic tapas (all free) and the crowning glory of the Alhambra. Definitely the best weekend break I've done and 2 days was far too short a time to spend there.

Morocco looks like it has got everything! Imperial cities, desert, mountains, hiking areas galore, beaches. Going to be very whistlestop in the 10 or so days, but I'm going to see as much as physically possible!

ah mate, you're going to have an extraordinary time! The outdoors is the best thing about this country! Algonquin Park is incredible! We spend alot of time up there. Hope you see a moose! There are magnificent! Especially when you see them on the water with the mist all around. if you're ever canoeing in the early morning or early evening, make sure you stay quiet and you might be lucky enough to spot this beauty of a beast smile.gif Have a great time!

Oh yeah, I never did get that to work last time, I did now though just listening to it.

I think you're talking about the Hypogeum the underground temple caverns - yes I've booked it. I nearly got caught out though. I had a look a couple of weeks back to book it and didn't really want to commit to a particular day so left it - then I've been reading about it and got the message that if you just turn up you won't get in as they only let 10 people in per hour. I went back to the website over the weekend to book it - seriously, there was only one option left for the whole week we are there - so, 9am on the Monday it is - and there were only a few tickets left for then as well, so I was lucky!!

Great! Do you have any idea of how many may be showing up? Is this going to possibly break the record for a TP'er gathering? What is that record anyway??

I don't know what the record is actually... Maybe 5? It's hard to tell because at the bigger ones, they aren't all TP'ers, they are Couchsurfers and people who brought their friends and family etc. etc.

OMG don't go to South St. for your cheesesteak. I went to the one famous place there, can't remember what it was called, but you can't miss it... and was SO disappointed...

Probably best to get it at some kind of market or fast food place.

I agree with Louise...a market is the best place. I had an amazing cheesesteak at Terminal Market....not to mention, the atmosphere is great, lots to see, shops, etc. Also, really close to Chinatown, which is always fun to see.

That NXNE web site is so vague. How do find out in better detail what is happening and where?
