While we were staying at Nikita's on Olkhon Island on Lake Baikal in Russia we spent most of our days playing table tennis. We were also lucky enough to experience the sight of some proper hardcore table tennis. Nikita and his friend would play each other at speeds no less than 100 mph.
We think his friend lived there as a coach to many of the children on the island and we were lucky enough to get a bit of training from him too.
Then when we walked past a sports shop filled with table tennis rackets in Beijing we couldn't refuse. We picked out the wooden bases and then picked the sides to go onto it and they made them for us there and then!
And now we're in Hong Kong and spent a day trying to find somewhere to use our new rackets, until we eventually found a Stadium kind of place and went in without being a member and just went and used their tables without having to pay anything!
Does anyone else enjoy a game of table tennis or two?
