What?! Don't toss it! Melt it down and make it into FONDUE!

Here's an easy recipe.

I'll second Green and Blacks - you can get it in Oz too, but it's one of the few things I can buy cheaper in the UK ;P My faves are Mayan Gold and Cherry...mmmm

Also Max Brenners in Melbourne (and elsewhere?) do fine hot chocolate. Especially with chilli biggrin.gif

Yeah, what can I tell you. I don't think it keeps that long either. I may have to toss it.

I don't think you should write this out loud in a chocolate lovers thread dude....

Awww, shucks, you know I luv the stuff! wub.gif

I just don't love the stale stuff. Thing is, I use the cupboard trick...out of sight, out of mind. Being the bachelor, it's not like I'm opening the cupboard every day.

Now, if I kept it in the fridge... devil.png drinks.gif

"Look for it pure (from a tree)" and you might realize that its magic is not in the taste (which is the taste of sugar anyways) but in something else you cannot even imagine.

I like to plant the Tree ... but cocoa tree may be difficult to find here in Thailand help.gif
but i like wafer Chocolate.. Here has Shanghai...(The red wrapper) Thai Style... don't forget to look for it in the supermarket... I like that too

OMG reading this, on Easter, is making me contemplate raiding my kids' Easter baskets!

My favorite: Jean-Paul Hevin chocolate from Paris. It is absolutely to die for.

For easy to find stuff, I like Lindt truffles. Yumm.

I lovvvvve kinder chocolate. It's all over the place in Canada. You can't get the eggs in the states because of rules saying that you can't put toys in food right?
I grew up in a really German household, so I had the toys before everybody else even knew what they were.

I don't really like Russell Stover...too much raspberry cream and such.

Have any of you seen Samantha Brown's Passport to Europe episode in Madrid where she has churros and hot chocolate? It looks like heaven, and Sam really enjoyed it. smile.gif

Oh, yeah, yummy! (I like her show)

I went to a little cooking demonstration once where we were shown how to make churros, then we all got taster churros with chocolate to dip them in. The churros had a hint of citrus in them (from zest in the dough), and it was so, so good!

That sounds like heaven. I haven't ever eaten churros. sad.gif It was on my "have to do" list the first time I went to San Diego and Disneyland, but I never saw a vendor.

OMG, you're kidding! I wouldn't know where to get churros in San Diego (and lived there for years and years--maybe at Sea World or Old Town??). BUT, I can't believe you couldn't find a cart at Disneyland!!!! ohmy.gif

Disneyland is THE place to get them (the only other place I can think of or have ever seen them would be a county fair).

p.s. The cooking demostration I went to was at Disney's California Adventure during their Food & Wine Weekends. The demonstration was by one of the chefs from the premiere restaurant there, Napa Rose (where you can get the fancy churros that he made and let us taste). Within the 2 parks, they are great, but not "gourmet" churros.

Found on Wikipedia, maybe Cracker Jacks aren't "confections":

Kinder Eggs containing toys are not suitable for children under the age of three due to the small parts which may be ingested or inhaled. They are sold all over the world excluding the United States, where the 1938 Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act prohibits embedding "non-nutritive items" in confections. Additionally, the Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall on the eggs in 1997. There are some stores in the United States that sell genuine Kinder Eggs, often in conjunction with other imported British or other European sweets, although their importation is technically illegal due to the 1938 law and 1997 recall.[1]

Yes! Churros remind me of Disney - I haven't been able to find any since sad.gif

Chocolate covered nuts/raisins/dried fruit are the best... and white chocolate covered blueberries are fitness! Holland & Barrett sells them all in England, I think I'm addicted.
