A survey by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has found Vancouver to be the best place to live in the world. Unsurprisingly the UK and America are nowhere to be seen.

Top 10

Vancouver
Melbourne
Vienna
Geneva
Perth
Adelaide
Sydney
Zurich
Toronto
Calgary

Bottom 10

Tehran
Douala
Harare
Abidjan
Phnom Penh
Lagos
Karachi
Dhaka
Algiers
Port Moresby

What do you think? Read more here.

Wow - THREE Canadian cities in the top 10! Amazing.

It's true - Vancouver is a pretty spectacular place to live.

how can an economic review have australian cities in the top 10 when their beer is so expensive! wink.gif i s'pose alcohol prices don't need to be a qualifying factor. i would be worried about long-term in oz though, 'cuz if the drought continues, food and water prices will soar.

i'm very surprised baghdad didn't make it in the bottom 10 places since safety is included in the criteria.

Hmmm...I'd guess that it might not have had enough criteria to be ranked - a lot of information was unavailable or skewed.....

Does anyone know if it was anywhere in the list?

Among the cities I have visited, Vancouver was probably the most pleasant.
I've been to Vancouver two times, I'm returning to Vancouver again for a few days this summer. I love this city wub.gif

Calgary? Huh? I don't get that one.

I'm hoping to move to Vancouver after I return to Canada.
