Do you think the prize was given as "a call for action", or
you are one of those who think the award has been premature?

Read the article, and state your opinion.
Personally I think that it was given as a call for action, but I am not quite sure because I don't live in the United States, so I have no idea how people feel about this.
So tell us as we want to get an idea.

What exactly did he do to get it? I don't get it at all. But I guess it matters little since he got it any way.

To quote one of the Canadian news networks that I saw while in Toronto this weekend, he got it because "he isn't George Bush."

Giving the Noble Peace prize to Obama over other more qualified candidates is a joke and makes a mockery out of this distinguished prize.

Let's not forget that the deadline for entry was Feb 2nd, so the prize should really go to "candidate" Obama because he was only in office about 3 weeks.

The worst thing is that the Noble committee themselves couldn't explain why Obama got the prize.

I can not believe that out of the 205 or so candidates that there were for this peace prize, a man who was in office for only three weeks at the time of nominations was awarded the supposed most coveted international prize.

For gods sake, it's been almost a year with him as president and he still hasn't accomplished anything other than tear this country further apart. What we need now is a unifier, not a divider...and by ramming bills through Congress with barely an inkling of bipartisanship all he is doing is ensuring that he will not be returning to office in 2012.

I didn't vote for him the first time around (I voted Nader), because I knew this would happen. People got caught up in the media frenzy that surrounded him with all this Hope and Change...and what we got was an underqualified and inexperienced "community planner."

This SNL skit sums it up perfectly...

But just think of what a horrible state we'd be in if we had another Bush, or... Sarah Palin.. I shudder at the thought.

The only difference between the American candidates for almost any national or state wide office is the rhetoric.
Otherwise they are all the same.
Obama is implementing McCain's ideas & continuing the Bush administration's policies thus far.
