Any good hostels worth recommending? I'm heading there next week and then probably off to Mendoza as well.

Haven't been to Cordoba, but I'm currently in Salta and was in Mendoza last week. In Salta I'm staying in The Backpacker's Hostel (original name huh?) which is a bit old and tatty but a very sociable place; be careful not to go to their sister hostel "Backpacker's City" though, its a dump. Backpackers has a very good travel agent for onward bookings and excursions as well.

As for Mendoza, I can't recommend the Hostel Lagares highly enough; the most friendly and helpful staff I've met in nearly six months' travel; can't do enough for you. Rooms are good, lots of bathrooms, a nice terrace and whopping DVD collection. A good mix of people when I was there as well. Internet's a bit limited, but they've got Wi-fi as of last week

Ive been staying with them throughout my travels in Argentina and cant recommend their hostels highly enough. They are all independently owned so theyre all different but chill, have good vibes, friendly, a great place to meet other travelers and backpackers and the prices are LOW.
