What is your favourite Eastern European country?. So far, of the places i've been (Poland, the Baltic republics, Czech republic....) the best has to be Estonia, I just loved Tallinn and couldn't get away from the place (ended up staying two weeks instead of three days) , brilliant countryside, amazing saunas, and if you go in june, days that never end!!!.

Don't know about Estonia, but I've got to say Hungary and Czech. I am a sucker for those Hungarian Roman bath.. and the athmosphere in Prague, well... it's beyond words.

i think hungary is pretty damn cool..budapest is a great city probably even better in the middle of summer...good sized student population make it feel younger and more vibrant..great wineries a day trip away as well

i think czech is well up there. especially pretty in winter with a bit of snow

I've only been to a couple of countries in Eastern Europe but I think they probably all have something special. Prague was beautiful....

I spent a month in Romania this summer and loved that as well. I was living in a small city which has probably never seen a tourist, so I really got a good feeling for what Romania is like. Beatiful country, wonderful people.

Spending more than a few days passing through a place can really change your whole experience!

I quite liked Hungary but perhaps had I not been flooded (Aug 2002) out of Czech Republic, I may have gotten the oppotunity to explore it more. But from what I saw of Prague, it was quite special. I think I will have to return one day...but I had better check the forecast beforehand biggrin.gif
