Setting Aside Time For Ourselves

We all know how important is to have this quiet time to ourselves.
How many of us have it, and what do you do when you are too stressed.

For instance if I am too stressed I can take my car and drive let’s say for 30 minutes in the countryside and come back. I drive slowly and enjoy the view as much as possible. I even stop and park the car and listen to music.
Other times I listen to my favorite music, over a glass of wine. drinks_wine.gif
There were times when younger when me and a friend went to clothing stores and start trying on everything that suited us, and then leave. I remember of those days and I still laugh. party.gif The shopping keepers hated us because we created a big mess! Of course I try to keep much time to myself nowadays, at least much more than when younger.

Well, tell us if you allow this free time to yourselves, and what you do when you are stressed! hyper.gif

I make alot of time for myself and in many regards i am quite the loner in this respect. don't get me wrong i can be the social butterfly but i enjoy alone time.
this may sound strange but one day a month its dedicated entirely to ME laugh.gif i do not utter a single word all day and avoid contact physical or otherwise with anyone. granted this isnt an original idea i actually adopted it from a close friend Georgia who i admire in alot of ways for her independence and never needing anyone to rely on and being so damn comfortable in her own skin something im getting close too but havent quite reached that place myself yet.....

when i get stressed/depressed i usually buy a bottle of moscato drinks_wine.gif and listen to Eddie Hinton's "Very Extremely Dangerous" record its my therapy of the musical kind smile.gif and works a treat within an hour im sweet as rain dance3.gif

You are doing the right thing Gerre. flowers.png I spend more than one day a week ....I spend about 2 hours to my self in the mornings when I walk and this relaxes me a lot, and during the weekend I have many hours to myself. My children are in Athens and have their own families, so I have plenty of time now. I never feel lonely even if I am alone. This helps a lot you know.
But the best time of all is when in bed.
When I wake in the middle of the night, I start thinking and it is here that I get the best ideas and plans of the days to come. It is here that I plan for my trips, and everything.
Here that I reconsider things, and ideas. I love these hours, -of course if I am very tired I never wake, but I am not anxious like my friends are, who grizzle that they wake up in the middle of the night and don't know what to do!

For myself, I often just grab a guitar and head off up the road into the national park, up the side of a nearby mountain, and settle on the edge of a cliff and play guitar for a few hours.
But you have already listed one of my most relaxing things to do, and that is a nice long ride in the country. I enjoy night drives, though, when there is hardly any traffic on the roads.

I rarely get stressed.

I like time to myself though, I don't set aside specific time, just whenever I want. I play my saxophone, guitar or flute. Sometimes I just go and sit outside with a coffee or read or something.

Hey Paula!
You are a talented woman! girl_cray2.gif I wish I could play one of the three instruments!
I onced had lessons on the piano, for 3 years, but after the trip to the United States, and when back to Cypurs, there was not money to buy a new Piano, so......nothing! crying_anim.gif crying_anim.gif

I don't just like time to my self though, I just creat it! drinks.gif
