Prince Harry will be posted with his regiment, the Blues and Royals, to southern Iraq for up to six months.

Some say he will be a major security risk.

Any thoughts?

Well......interesting one. Sure, he'll be a high-value target, but then again, any British soldier is a pretty high-value target.

I guess the British military is confident that he's a competent soldier and that the risks outweigh the benefits.

Personally, I wouldn't want to be in his regiment. Or his troop, for that matter. (I'm sure he's a wonderful leader....)

I heard on the news about this. They say they will be making decisions on a daily basis whether or not to pull him out, for his comrades safety as much as his own.

I think Jena and Barbara Bush should trump Harry's gesture and volunteer to bear arms in Baghdad.

Both those boyse seem like they have good heads on their shoulders. I think it's unfortunate that Harry will be in that predicament b/c I have a feeling he'll be quite proud to serve his country. his mum would be proud.

I don't know much about the Royals. Why do you suppose his brother's not going? Too much risk to have them both their? Enlighten me.

I think it's good that he's going. It's his job and he seems eager to go. That said it comes at a strange time as they announced the other day that we are withdrawing 1500 troops in the next few weeks.

William's not going because he only just completed his training. There was something on the news saying that as he is the heir to the throne he has to complete service in all 3 armed forces so I assume he'll be off to start RAF/Navy training soon.

When we read about it in work, the first thing my colleague said was:

"All the ginger troops in Iraq are going to be crapping themselves now"
