I really didn't appreciate the inconvenient location of Gibraltar Airport. I was going to post this on the Gibraltar Forum but don't want to put people off flying there!
Couldn't they build an underpass for the traffic ? Mmmmm..... maybe not easy... Gibraltar is pure solid rock, I suppose!

I've flown into Gibraltar airport.
The truth is, yes the main road goes across the runway. Traffic is stopped by lights and the Police when a flight comes in. However, there are very few flights a day, about 6 or so. I've walked across the runway too.

I didn't fly here but I walked across the runway and I thought it was pretty cool to walk down the sidewalk that runs through a landing strip. There are so few flights that it is not much of an inconvenience anyway. Certainly unique though!
