We've just landed in Thailand and tomorrow we heading to Malaysia.
We hope to be in Kuala Lumpur before the 11th of February for the Thaipusam festival. We're looking to meet up with some Travel Podders while we're down there.
Also, if you have any suggestions, drop us a line!
hi - I have had very good reports on Perhentian islands - up on the North East coast of Malaysia - diving with turtles etc. It is high on my list of places to go - might well be worth checking it out if you get time.
Wow, thanks for all the advice. We're pumped for Malaysia (leaving in.... 2 hours. Oh man I need to get to the train station).
Our train deposits us in Butterworth, and we were thinking of heading across the water to Georgetown. We have no guide book for Malaysia so we're just flying by teh seat of our pants on this one. Any thoughts?
I think I am a bit late in answerring about George town - but yes it is a good idea and easy to organise when you get there. Hmmm, I hadn;t even started mentioning Malaysian Borneo as I wasn't sure that you'd go - but yu should - it is great.
Mt Kinabalu, Poring Hot springs, maybe turtle island and Sipadan and definitely Sepilok Orangutan Sactuary in Sabah.
In Sarawak, envoy Kuching, go see the Pinnacles, go to Deer cave, go and stay in a long house somewhere. Oh and maybe Bako National Park.

Yes, yes, and yes! The orangutan sanctuary is amazing. Had a chance to see them a few years back. The entire area is beautiful and worth a look. I had a hard time leaving.
