Hey Kacee, haven't you heard? There is no such thing as a stupid question.

But if there was a stupid answer, it would probably be this: I don't know.

Anyway, I haven't been there myself but I can't imagine that they would not sell you a ticket at the airport. Do you mean as opposed to at a travel agency?

Hello again biggrin.gif Plane tickets are reasonably cheap and make travelling the vast distances in China simple. I flew to Tibet (and back) which is internal and arranged the 2 flights seperately. My hostel booked the outboud flight (and secured my permit) so saved me a lot of hassle. When I arranged the return leg I found the ticket office in town and sorted it all myself. Filled in the forms and stuff and got the tickets. Not too difficult.

There are LOADS of ticket agencies around on the streets who would be happy to sort you out with flights and to be honest I doubt you'd have any problem booking a ticket directly at the airport.

If this is your trip from Beijing to Wuhan then there may be a different airport for domestic flights? Anyone know for sure?

HI

If flying is so easy and cheap in China - I want to go to Songpand from Chengdu and back. But we arrive in Chendu at night and have to fly out the next day. Can anyone please send me a website or e-mail address of a hostel or agency in Chengdu that whould arrange me the flight in advance?

Kind regards
Liezelv

I flew from Guangzhou to Kunming and from Nanning to Shenzen. Each time I just showed up at the airport... no problem. It might help, though, if you speak some Chinese... but it should be fine with English only too...

yes, turning up at a larger airport and going from airline to airline and ticket agent to ticket agent is usually a good way to find a cheap flight that day, as long as you:
don't turn up late at night

Check first on the internet like ctrip or elong for flights and prices. And don't try this during the busy periods - Chinese New Year/Spring Festival (Jan-Feb), May first few weeks, October first few weeks.

I've been able to get tickets as cheap as 80% off normal fares this way - but have also had to pay a business class fare when flights were full and the only tickets were in 'business class' (what a joke).
