I have the same problem (if 'line breaks' is what you're calling it.) Basically, to change photo widths I HAVE TO switch from wizard to pro view. This is simple enough as is the editing, but when switching back to wizard view all the paragraphs seem get lumped together and I then have to go through, check back through the text and replace all the paragraph spacings. Hassle.

Line breaks? I guess you could call it that. For me, this is potentially a load of extra work but again, that's cos' I choose to use the long winded way of weaving photos in. It's something I can live with..

A peeve I have not just here but in a number of other totally different programs. Eg:

At the bottom of an entry being edited is printed:
wizard mode
Click on it and then appears advanced mode.

Does anybody else see the ambiguity here or am I just dense? When "wizard mode" appears does it mean I am In wizard mode or does it mean click on 'wizard mode' in order to enter 'wizard mode'. Or should it be obvious? If the text read either: "You are in wizard mode" Or "Click to enter wizard mode" that would make matters pellucid for types like myself.

The text links on bottom right of the editor have been changed to "Switch to Advanced Mode" and "Switch to Wizard Mode". Wizard mode should work as any other text editor, select the text and apply formatting (bold, italics, underline or a link). To clear formatting select the text and click the "Clear formatting" button. To spell check your document, click the "Check Spelling" icon. Advanced mode allows you to see the raw html that is generated as a result of editing in the rich text editor. You edit this as you would your entries in the past.

I've found a way to insert line breaks, the existing html tags (<br>) are left in there and I realize it makes it kinda messy, but they need to be there for now. If I find a way of taking them out and still preserving formatting, I'll do it. I hope this helps out.

I used to have all the Lucasarts games. They were (and still are) brilliant. I played Monkey Island again last year My brother had all the games running on SCUMMVM on his mobile.

The text editor is great! Congrats. It will help make things easier.

Here's some constructive criticism...

Occasionally there are bugs in the editor,which now make things harder to get right.

For example, if I type in text then save it, some of the text comes
back different, with
the text not in paragraph format with the text wrapping nicely
but chopped as in this text. I haven't been able to correct this, even saving it in a Word file, fixing all the lines, etc.

If changing modes, sometimes this will appear ".&nbsp" along with other things. Sometimes it seems to have a mind of its own.

Until we figure something better out, you can use Ctrl+c to copy and Ctrl+v to paste text into the text editor.

I use Firefox too, and usually write my entries in Word first. Copying and pasting to solve this problem doesn't work, it still brings all of the Word formatting over into the text editor. Copying an entry into the text editor from Word brings up an error message like the one attached.

I got around it by pasting my entry from Word into notepad, which removed the formatting, then pasting it into the Travelpod text editor.

But now that we have this great new text editor I might not worry about starting in Word any more! Well done guys, a great development!

Looks like the new editor is corrupting entries each time I open and edit that entry. It is adding %20 (spaces) in my code and disabling links. Also randomly adding "&amp;nbsp" in my text.

How do I go back to old faithful text editor?

I'm on a Mac using Firefox.

What exactly is happening with the "&nbsp;"? What browser are you using and what version?

In general the text editor is a great addition to the site which will be handy for the majority of users. Still I'd much prefer sticking with advanced mode, so is there any way of defaulting to that and not returning to basic mode every time I save?

After looking at your entry, this formatting is being caused by the fact that there are carriage returns (enter key) at the end of some lines (after "...covering 30", "...looking for", etc). Every time you press enter in advanced mode it will move the text down one line when viewing in html. Now I realize that in advanced mode it is difficult to distinguish between when there is a carriage return and when the text has just wrapped, but if you're getting weird formatting then it is most likely because there is a carriage return in there somewhere.

I really like this new feature, but somehow paragraph breaks do not show up. I must being doing something wrong, but it is hard to read long entries without breaks.

Shaun - I don't ever insert carriage returns into the middle of my paragraphs, the editor does it itself.

I either write all of my entry in a diary app, paste it into a text editor to strip all formatting out and then past it directly into advanced mode, or I type it directly into advanced mode (here's an example of the second method going pear-shaped.

Definitely no carriage returns entered by me anywhere in the process - the Save/display in basic mode also does it and no matter how much I delete them after saving, the returns are still added.

Yes Carm - regardless of whether I paste it into the basic or advanced editor it will automatically insert the breaks. It seems like something is trying to limit the width of the edit box for a particular browser and my browser (firefox) displays a wider edit box...
