We love warm sunshine, beaches, greenery, natural things, animals, tropical, friendly people, a laid back attitude, saving money, hiking, photography, beauty, rustic, etc. We don't care so much about fancy, developed, spendy activities, man-made stuff, commercialism, touristy stuff.
We really liked Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica a lot. Where else should we try?

Hi bfresh,
Wellcome to travelpod - here you will have the opportunity to have a look on several blogs from members and see many photos.
This will make you decide which country to visit.
I would recommend Greece or Cyprus, since I come from these countries, and in my blogs you will find more than 2000 photos with notes and comments on trips. I am on a very beautiful island right now even if it is September, and the climate is fantastic.
What is your country of origin by the way? Tell us more about yourself.

Costa Rica! Lovely place..

The first place that came to mind from your list is New Zealand as that has pretty much everything you want. And as the Barbados representative I'd say the Caribbean.. but it is a bit overcommercialised tongue.gif Grenada, St. Lucia and St. Vincent arent as much though, and they're all little gems. Also, the south of Puerto Rico smile.gif

It's hard to give a cheap place to go because you didn't say where you're from! People in the Americas tend to go for Mexico, CR, etcetc. But if Europe is no problem for you to get to then I'd go with Popi up there and say Greece and Cyprus. Croatia's said to be very nice too. smile.gif

I think almost anywhere South America would suit you guys well. You'll hit loads on your list in South East Asia too.

BTW, welcome to the forums smile.gif

You mentioned that you liked Costa Rica, so I assume you enjoyed the general culture and sights that Central America has to offer. I recently read and article in the NY Times about El Salvador...seems it is soon to be the "next Costa Rica" type of destination.

Here is the link...
No Longer War-Torn, El Salvador Begins to Draw Tourists

The article made me interested in El Salvador for a possible future trip, let me know what you think.

Sorry, still learning about this forum. We live in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Thanks for the suggestions so far, that gives me a place to start.
