We recently visited the Lower Deck which is set up just like you would expect the lower deck of a ship... picnic tables and lanterns. They have great bands who play lots of lively music which inevitably gets everyone singing at one point or another! Sociable!

A must do!

Andrea,

I totally agree! The Lower Deck is a Halifax classic...been there many a time!

However, most of the time I'm too....happy.....to remember the decor of the pubs I've been to! Haha. That's what Halifax will do to you.

How long were you in Halifax for?

We went for a long weekend for a wedding and only had one day in Halifax. We saw the band "Signal Hill" which I had seen before also at the Lower Deck. They were playing in Ottawa last weekend and we made sure to go. They're awesome!

Ha, maybe I will check this one out this weekend.

Lots of great bars in Halifax including The Lower Deck.
Also head to Argyle Street for a string of pubs, bars and restaurants.
Spring Garden Road is another hot spot and the good thing is that they are all located so close together you can easily walk to them all and still be right downtown.
