I actually went to one of those in Wales with school!!

But I agree, I am definitely in need of some Scottish cultural immersion... do you go back over alot? And where is your home home, near Glasgow?

Brilliant!!!! I don't go home that often in the grand scheme of things (the flights are pretty rubbish for a w/e) but I may be over first w/e in October for my uncle's 60th! Probably won't be back then until Christmas.

My 'home home' is Greenock - 25 miles west of Glasgow, so yes, Glasgow is the main city

Hopefully I will be up there by October, depends on how long the CRB checks and all the other disclosure stuff that I know next to nothing about takes to go through... Glasgow still scares me a little though, so I will have to summon the courage to return back that way

No worries, I'll make the effort to come over for a TP meet-up - wherever that may be...will get my thinking cap on! Let's see where the others are - Aberdeen & somewhere else, then co-ordinate if they're up for it too, hee hee!

Yes I'm going to U of Aberdeen Awesome to hear from another alum! They put me up on the Hillhead rez in the student village [Fyfe House to be exact] so it should be veeerryyy interesting..

My experience with Scotland is limited to Inverness and surroundings, I do remember taking a 2 hour drive to somewhere in the northwest but I cant remember where for the life of me, maybe I should ask my stepmum.. hmm.. but her entire side of the family is from the Highlands so I'm certainly not short of info

TP meetup sounds AWESOME though, freshers is 22nd-27th and classes start on the 28th or so I think so hopefully that first weekend I can escape! hehe I could just imagine a bunch of us touring the countryside with random hats, lol!

Also depending on how my plans work out getting from here to there, I may be spending a night in Glasgow which will be interesting because I've never been to southern Scotland before

Sounds good! I went to Robert Gordon Uni, so not the same one, but students all 'same same, but different'

Hillhead halls - flash from the past! My friend Clare lived in them - pretty cool, and a nice part of town - it's like 'Old Aberdeen' so all cobbly streets and everything - very cool!

No worries on the timings - enjoy freshers week!! We'll arrange it properly soon - but yes, the hats are definitely top of the agenda !!

as well - Glasgow is more western Scotland - when I hear 'south' I'm thinking Dumfries / the borders area, hee hee hee
