Just read this article, thought it may be of interest to some people here...

Inspired by Tourism Queensland's 'best job in the world' campaign, Thailand is now offering five couples the chance of a free holiday in the country most popular cities and beaches, provided they blog, tweet and chat about it.

They will also be in the running for US$10,000 cash, plus a video camera and Blackberry.

Applicants should be "good storytellers" and must know how to use YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Flickr, the Tourism Authority of Thailand said on the contest's newly launched website Ultimate Thailand Explorer where one-minute video auditions can be submitted until October 15.

Not that I wouldn't take a free holiday but having to commit to blogging and tweeting turns me off.

Winning this would be nice and then you could go wherever you like!

Well going for the Antarctica trip appears to be a bust, but maybe this will work out better. If you get chosen for the top 25 the chances of winning are much easier. I think my girlfriend and I will make a video this weekend for sure.

I just read you need an international drivers license [one of the two in the group], which I do not have. I wonder how hard it would be to get one.

We've applied! Now I am trying to get our video out to the world!

http://ultimatethailandexplorers.com/no_ca...=jeremyandangie

We have about 900 hits right now. I suspect that a few of the more "popular viewed" groups are refreshing their pages at will to give them 10,000+ hits. I watched one group go from 400 to over 10,000 in a day and a half.

Anyway, the open submission period is until mid October when the judges pick the final 5 finalists per city. I think it would be great if every city had someone from travelpod represent them in the final 5. But, if you dont want to participate, feel free to view our video to help us out! If we get in the final 5 we'll need tons of people to vote for us during the open voting period.
