Can anyone recommend the best dive sites and where to stay in Belize? We are prob going to the try and get to the Blue hole but would like to try some other sites also? We are travelling up the country so our vague plan is to stay a few nights arund Placenia, to Belize City and then out to the Cayes (we thought Caulkner looked nicer)? W have about 10 days in the country and are passing through on our way from Guatamal to Mexico

Where shall we dive and where shoudl we stay?? As cheap as possible....

Thanks sooooooo much!

You can't do worse than to read other travelpodders experiences diving in Belize. Skim through these for some great experiences and advice. Don't hesitate to contact them if you want more specific information.

Around the northern cayes and atolls there are a few top spots for diving. Caye Caulkner is one of them. Turneffe Island & Lighthouse Reef Atolls is where the Blue Hole is, as you know, but there's other great diving around there too. Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark-Ray Alley are two more of the well-known sites out there. I've not been but a good friend of mine has and it gets rave reviews. It's a good spot but I think Turneffe and the Lighthouse are better if you have some diving experience.

Check out Glover's Reef Atoll, you can book a trip there from Placencia.
Also, go to this site to see some places to stay in Placencia.... I recommend Captain Jak's.
