I'm travelling around South America next year for around 5-ish months from Rio to Rio. I'll be finishing in Rio in mid July & was hoping to have a couple of weeks extra in Brazil. As i'll be seeing much of central brazil, the Amazon, pantanal etc on my trip i was considering backpacking up the coast to Recife & Natal.
Bearing in mind i'll be doing this in July is this worth it?
Has anyone done anythig similar during July? Or any tips on what i should do with my last 2 weeks in Brazil?

Are you kidding? You are asking if it's worth it? My goodness it's heaven in earth. July is mid winter in the tropics, fabulous weather. Just take a look at http://www.travelpod.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6176. All you will need is a toothbrush and your swimwear! http://www.brazilbeaches.org/. Just go as far as you can in two weeks, and if you decide to stay, well, so be it. Go for it and enjoy!
