It is a month of tradition, family get-togethers, and big long dinners. For Muslims, Ramadan is also a month of refraining from food and drink during the day, from sunup till sundown. Yet, for Turkey’s expats, it is a time to observe Turkey’s traditions, enjoy Turkish generosity, respect those who are hungry and thirsty during the day.

A friend of mine who is not Muslim but has Middle Eastern ancestry tried to do it and swore he would never do it again!

Have you done it?

No, 'fraid not. Like the fresh food here in Turkey too much - and the occasional glass (or three) of red wine - 12 months of the year!
