I am a single guy looking to travel to Greece during the month of February or january depends on when my boss lets me go. So I would like any advice I can get that will help me plan my trip. My plane ticket is free so all i need to worry about is the in county expenditures. I am looking at spending no more than 5000 US. I have 15 days from when i land to when I leave. Anyone and everyone is welcome to give me their pointers.

Thankyou in advance

Lucky you to get a free flight! How did you wrangle that?

There are a couple of Greece experts on this forum, they should have something to say to you soon.

I like to check out the "Before You Go" guides at TripAdvisor before I plan anything, have a look at these:

Hi Paroshep

My nightlife consist of examining the innerds of my eyelids. I sleep when the sunsets. I want to walk through the pages of history after reading and hearing about Greece I want to see the place where it comes from.

I want to be pampered so a few spas and massages are most defintely in order. I have heard the best way to examine the culture is through its food so I would rather stay at some B and B. I will not need Wifi as my laptop is staying home dont want to risk it. I know how to use my LPC (leather personnel carriers). I think I should depend on the public transportation because I dont want to wind up hurting myself with an error.

I want a somewhat of a structured ordeal maybe a few guides while in country. So I am not running around with my head cut off.

Hello,

What would you like to experience in Greece? Nightlife, history or local culture and people? If you really want to experience real Greek culture visit some agroturistic places or some villages. Believe me getting in contact with simple Greek people and getting involved in their activities is better than going and listening a guide telling story about some ancient ruins.

I am from Romania, but I am in Greece for 2 years because I am studying here. Greek cuisine is very good and rich in meat.

I wish you a very nice holiday in Greece.

I was in Greece many years ago, but the one thing I've remembered the most was Meteora Monasteries, totally unbelievable thing! You should definitely see it, no matter if you like to party or just sightseeing! smile.gif

In August-September I was in Athens, the Cyclades islands and Turkey - on a sailing yacht and then backpacking. Watch for my blog soon to be published here on TravelPod. Start at the Students & Traveller Hostel in Plaka district (old city) in Athens. and simply ferry-hop. Its really easy, and if you are on a budget - landlords will meet you right at the ferry dock when you arrive at an island and ask if you want a room, just name your price and stick to it, if they are at the ferry it means they may have an empty room if you say no and you are going in the off season as well. I dont go fancy, just a clean bed is enough, and a shower reasonably close by, not necessarily in my room, I dont care about that, good luck
