Where do you get your inspiration for your travels? Is it from seeing pictures in glossy magazines? From seeing offers in the travel agent's window? From hearing the tales of others who have traveled? From the internet? Or from somewhere else? What inspires you to travel?

I believe all this inspiration comes from a deeper insight. I am not sure how to describe it, it is just that you wish to travel and not just because you have read something in a magazine, heard of, seen pictutres. I believe this inspiration is endless, and it is not also just travelling to very beautiful places, but getting to know places, studying, get mixed with people. I remember myself really young when this was my dream and nothing else. And as I grow older, I feel that this inspiration will only end the moment I leave this world. As long as I live, I want to travel. http://www.travelpod.com/members/greekcypriot (New Entries, more than 2800 photos)

QUOTE(starlagurl @ Aug 7 2009, 10:02 AM) I get inspiration for traveling having lists I want to check off before I die. It sounds harsh, but it's the way I do it.
I do this too, only the more I travel, the longer my list gets... I get my inspiration from everything! Stories, pictures, dreams, websites, etc Pretty much there isn't anywhere that I don't want to travel to.

I have a list too! It changes quite a bit, but there's a few fundamental pieces. I fell in love with the idea of Australia when I was 10 - a nice temperate friendly country far away from everything - and it's the one thing on my list written in big black bold marker! But mostly I learn about the cultures on the internet or through friends and become interested. Of course the blogs I find on this site only help to feed that inspiration.. The big points on my list are Aus, NZ, Canada, Argentina, Ecuador, Japan, China, Thailand, Scandinavia on a whole and South Africa.
