Hi, my boyfriend and I am driving from the UK to Torrevieja and would love to take in the scenic route including Toledo, Barcelona and some coast, can anyone suggest a good scenic route as I would love to see the Real Spain as I am used to just seeing Alicante airport and Torrevieja where I visit my parents. We hope to take about 4-5 days travelling there.
Thanks

I've driven through Catalonia - the inland roads from Perpignan to Barcelona are beautiful, they run straight through the Pyrenees. I would definitely drive the Costa Brava coast from Figueres down to Barca - thats the most beautiful part of Spain that I've ever seen. Onwards from there, I couldn't say - I imagine the coast road would be pretty nice all the way down?

Out of curiosity I googled the Costa Brava Coast and...wow! Looks like it would be a real beauty of a drive!

No wonder they call it 'Spain's Wild Coast". if we ever go back I'm going to keep that in mind! Seems like there's loads of great beaches to stop and swim at too.
