The Republic of Kazakhstan is a wonderful country located in north-west Asia and south-east Europe, right in the very heart of the Eurasian continent.
By area, the state ranks 9th among the largest countries in the world.
There are several major mountain ranges in Kazakhstan, with the highest point in the country being Khan Tengri (6995m above sea level) - the holy mountain of ancient Turks.
The west of the country borders the Caspian Sea, where you can find the lowest point of the country - Karagiye chasm (132m below sea level).
Steppes occupy half the territory of the entire country, and 3% of the land is covered with forests. There are also more than 48,000 lakes all over the country. The forests and lakes are home to rare species of flora and fauna that are not found anywhere else in the world.
Furthermore, monuments of ancient nomadic civilisations in Kazakhstan have survived to this day.
Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, is the most beautiful city in the country as well as the fastest growing city in the world.
