WHERE ARE WE RIGHT NOW?

I thought of opening this new topic today, because I really want to see where other members are right now.
This I believe will be interesting, so that somebody who finds a destination interesting, follow the other member in his or her trip see photos, and get useful information from other members on their blogs.

Of course not to write down where they are heading in a few days or similar, but just write down where they are the moment they write.

Anyone interested can follow.
SAMOS ISLAND
Well, starting from me I have just finished dinner. We are at IREON - on the Island of Samos. The Island is So beautiful, have So many photos to place in my blogs....really beautiful, and I am going to start putting in a couple of days when back.
IREON is a seaside fishing village, and I have never regretted that I have booked here. To get an idea is to imagine yourselves on a beautiful Greek bay with many restaurants, the smell of octopus, hanging, ouzo, fishing boats, calm crystal waters, beautiful weather, and a car waiting for you to explore the Island. Got the picture?

TIP
It is always a good idea to study each place we visit before booking. By the time I was here I almost knew what to expect.
Can't wait to share comments, photos, and tips of the Island of Samos, for members to know before coming here.
Also I am going to write about the cost of Ferries to other neighboring Islands.

So.....where are you right now? Tell us!
And do let me know if you liked this idea of writing where we are the moment we write.
(I just posted something in my blog on Samos but no photos as Interent is very slow)

Good topic, Popi!

I'm usually writing from Ottawa, Canada, I tend not to have much time to post (too busy writing my blog!) when I'm actually out and about.

Well right now I am "enjoying" the heat in Comox on Vancouver Island, British Columbia Canada. sweat.gif

I am visiting with my family and taking things very easy. I recently returned from three days of acting as a tour guide for my relatives in Victoria.

The Comox Valley is a beautiful retirement area under the shadow (so to speak but not really) of the Comox Glacier.

Great idea, gc!!

I write my responses and blogs from Kansas City, Missouri, USA. Like Louise, I rarely have time to update while I'm traveling, though on occasion I might pop up in the forums for a few minutes.

I spent a day In Topeka, the capital of Kansas, on Saturday. I blogged about it, if you're interested.

Weather here has been lovely! August is usually so hot and humid that I start begging the gods for autumn. Though it is pretty humid, the highs today and yesterday are/were in the low 80 degrees (F) with morning temps in the low 70s. I am so ready for Autumnl!

Home with my parents in Warrington, England today. Off to Stirling in Scotland for the day tomorrow, then back to Loughborough for the last two weeks of Uni... then who knows... bring it on!

The weather throughout will undoubtedly be less than glamorous... British summer for you!

I'm in South Eastern Australia looking out to a grey sky and hoping for rain to help break the drought. It's a bit chilly outside at the moment but it's starting to warm up after winter. (I haven't had a proper winter in about 2 years because I've been in different parts of Oz and overseas!)

TIP - prepare for all seasons when coming to Australia. Even if you're staying in only one state, unless it's full on winter (June-July), you could get anything, haha!

Ha, you know, my entire life I'd been lead to believe it was permenantly hot in Australia. I got such a shock when I rocked up in Winter and found that the one flimsy jacket I'd packed wasn't really sufficient to see me through!

It's a fairly common misconception... even Aussies make the mistake if they live in the south and head north. Some visitors are surprised when it rains too but I think most tourist spots are prepared for the barrage of people asking for jackets/ raincoats/ umbrellas/ etc now and have all sorts of bright "I'm a tourist" stuff for people to buy. (but hey, at least they work I guess)

Hehe, they should make raincoats etc with "I'm A Tourist!" written in big bold letters. They'd be a hit, if those hideous Hawaiian-style shirts are anything to go by..

Right now, I'm biding my time between my house in Rockley [south coast] and my boyfriend's house in Holetown [west coast], mostly trying to sort out travelling stuff because my internet at home is too crappy to do so! [6kb/s..?!]

So still in Barbados.. for now. Hopefully should get interesting around here soon, what with a BIIIIG national holiday coming up on Monday and then an island trip planned for next week sometime! smile.gif

I'm here in Mutianyu Village, Beijing, China. The weather is good now, although it's the rainy season and we get thunder virtually every day now. It's unbelievably green here!

There is a blog about my stay here. I'll try to add pictures today!

Come here!:)

A couple of hours ago we landed at Venizelos Airport, and I am going to stay in Athens till Sunday morning coming from Samos Island.
I have a faster internet here so I am planning to download my photos and make some entries.

Lucky here in Athens are considered those who have either left Athens, or are going to leave soon. But I don't mind because I love Athens with less crowds and traffic. Athens will be even better during August.
Most Greeks have their vacations during this month, and it is so beautiful to walk in the centre and move around so quickly.

I'd buy the I'm a tourist clothes for s**ts and giggles, lol!

Seems loads of people are visiting family at the moment or have got a long weekend. I love the big national holidays - always loads of fun, especially if you're travelling and haven't experienced it before.

I'm in San Francisco right now. I'm renting the use of a computer at the Beat Museum (dedicated to Jack Kerouac). Today, I view the ruins of the Sutro Baths & Ocean Beach, had lunch at the Cliff House (crab cocktail with Anchor Steam Beer), then visited Yerba Buena Gardens & the Mosconi Center. Tomorrow I'll see the Exploratorium, Presidio Army Museum, Fort Mason, Crissy Field, & Fort Point. I'll be back in Seattle the day after.

Earlier this week I was in Monterey visiting my mother & sister for my birthday. I went around Monterey, Carmel, & Point Lobos taking as many photos I could. (I have a new memory card for my camera that can hold over 6,400 photos at a time.) I have enough photos of Spanish architecture to fill a book. Anyhoo, it's been a great week.
