Travel industry news site "Travel Mole" says that Bali is now taking international travelers' blood samples to make sure the H1N1 flu doesn't infect their population.

Is that pushing it too far?

Upon landing at Bali's airport planes will be taken to a remote aircraft parking area where the plane and its passengers will be sprayed with disinfectant.

Passengers will then be disembarked and subjected to thermal scanners.

However, the
Jakarta Globe is reporting that Baliís Ngurah Rai International Airport is now requiring all arriving international air passengers to undergo a blood test.

Nyoman Murtiyasa, the head of the airportís health office, quoted in the
Jakarta Globe said that all passengers arriving from overseas would be required to take a blood test at the airport.

Don't you think they are over reacting?
In the meantime, they probably lack medicine and accomodation?

I think many people will think it twice before flying there.
Just imagine taking the test, waiting for the results, feeling so helpless and tired having flying for so many hours!
What happens if they see that you have the infection?
Send you back with the same plane?

It's true! The money would probably be better spent on a better healthcare program for their own people.

Trauma! I generally tend to faint at these things, so I definitely wouldn't be too happy about it...

I agree with what you said Louise, there must be a better use for this money, surely.

I hate injections too. Imagine leaving for this destination, reach there and get this test! Trauma indeed as Sianeth says.

Well, I don't think it would be an injection... probably more like a pin prick...and then they test a drop of your blood... but really I have no idea.
