Out of the dive shops on Guanaja, Bay Islands, Honduras, The Guanaja Island Club stands out mainly because of Brian, the Divemaster. When it’s briefing time, he is all business. When it’s time to set up your gear, he is helpful and meticulous. But after that, it’s all fun. A trip on his boat is not a long and arduous ride the reefs are not more than 5-6 minutes dock to the mooring buoys. Book your trip directly with Brian or Carolina, who is very accommodating and will set up a package to meet your needs. Guanaja is a great place to dive. There wasn’t much out there in the way of advertising for Guanaja. A few B& B’s and some reviews. I contacted the Guanaja Island Club and decided to spend our vacation there. They have a great dive facility and resort right on a beautiful stretch of beach. Lovely private cabanas overlooking the sea. Meals were large and tasty and varied. The bar has a great Tiki drink menu. I looked forward just for cocktail hour every evening under the stars. Lots to do there. We took a few boat tours to different places on Guanaja, Swam, Fished, dove, hiked, relaxed in Hammocks by the beach. Made some beach fires at night and had an all around fun time there. The office cheerfully booked all of our connecting flights, made transfers, reconfirmed all of our flights and met us at the Guanaja Airport when we arrived and brought us back when we departed. Easy and no stress. This is definitely a great couple’s getaway place, a place to get the romance back into life. I highly recommend the Guanaja Island Club. They have a really nice web site: www.guanajaislandclub.com
